Hi, I’m Roy with Rocky Ridge Properties.
Prior to working in the real estate world, I was a software engineer and software manager. Right out of high school, a friend taught me to program and my career was launched. We actually built one of the first computer controlled theatre lighting control boards together. Later, I worked for companies such as Sun Microsystems (I was there when they invented Java), Dish Network, and Cardkey Systems as well as a handful of startup companies. I love computers and technology, but you can only do that so many hours a day.
When I bought my first home, I would come home each day and work on updating my home. I learned about plumbing, electrical, dry-walling, and framing. On the weekends, I would actually walk through new home developments because I became infatuated with home construction. My wife and I had our first date looking at model homes.
At that point, I was hooked, I purchased a few homes and rented them out. I renovated and sold properties and learned from both experts as well as experience (learning from the experts was much less painful).
I moved to Colorado in 2005 and was excited to have a home built. Like many other home owners, I lost my home in 2009 through a short-sale. I know first hand that people run into issues all the time which they need help with.
Rocky Ridge Properties was born as a side business to help build some extra income. Since then, I have left my technology world and been working in the real estate world full time. We have a staff of people on board to help make what can be a tough situation for you as easy as we can.
I have always believed in and prided myself on being honest and reliable. Let’s be honest… we’re here to make a living, but I believe that if all parties in a transaction are humble and not greedy, we can all win out…. There is no reason to gouge or undercut others just to make a buck. I’d much rather make some little money by working hard helping people than try to make a ton of money by taking advantage of folks.
